What it actually is
Focused light energy into tissue. That's the whole mechanism.
Laser therapy delivers focused light energy into tissue. That's it.
The CureWave runs at wavelengths above 1280 nanometers, which is a long way down the spectrum from the red-light panels you've seen at the gym. Longer wavelength means less of the energy gets absorbed at the surface by melanin and hemoglobin, so more of it reaches deeper.
You'll feel warmth. That's the part people aren't expecting.
What a session is like
Warmth, a moving handpiece, and you're out the door.
You sit or lie down. We put protective eyewear on you. The handpiece hovers over the area we're working on.
The warmth builds gradually. Most people describe it as pleasant, somewhere between a heating pad and a deep massage. If it gets too warm, you say so and we adjust. That's not a complication, that's just the feedback we need.
Your free visit is ten minutes on the laser. Paid sessions run 20 or 30, depending on the area and what we're after.
You walk out and go about your day. No numbness, no soreness, no restrictions.
Typical scheduling is three sessions a week to start. Whether you continue past that depends on what we see, and we'll tell you plainly.
Who this is for
Anyone with a body
There isn't a type.
We see people recovering from surgery and people trying hard to avoid one. Kids, teenagers, and folks well into their eighties. Weekend warriors, moms, first responders, athletes.
What they've got in common is discomfort or inflammation that isn't resolving, and they're tired of waiting on it.
Questions people ask
The ones that come up before someone books.
No. You'll feel warmth, sometimes significant warmth. If it crosses into uncomfortable, tell us and we adjust on the spot.
Yes. Ten minutes on the laser, no charge. We don't take a card to hold it and there's nothing you have to buy afterward.
Because it's a sample, not a session. Paid sessions run 20 or 30 minutes depending on what we're working on, and there's a package if you decide to keep going. I'd rather give away something small and honest than something long I have to recoup somewhere else.
We do not take insurance but you can use your HSA card!
Usually, but tell us everything you're doing. Some conditions and medications make laser a poor idea, which is part of what the first visit screens for.
